Hola, Sneakers! The very funny Ben Mills returns for his third visit on the show, but only his second time in studio so it was great to be able to catch up with Ben. The show got off to a quiet start this week, but then discussion turned to Dave’s Dad’s bunker; the omnipresence of fruit flies (amiright?); the devilish ingenuity of raccoons; how bad comedy hurts Dave; Ben Mills fabulous comedy night at the Prophouse; Ben’s explanation of the psychology of attending shows; Ian and Ben discuss the craft of stand-up comedy (here is your chance to learn all the secrets!); and, finally, talk turns to Ben’s favourite band OF ALL TIME: GWAR.

Seconded that Ian should know Sufjan Stevens’s music. Maybe skip around the first few tracks of Michigan and Illinois, if not listen to the whole albums (and how could one not?) as an introduction. I’m always surprised when people I know haven’t heard of him, but I’m also the guy who’s gotten most of his new music the past few years by listening to the CBC Radio 3 podcast, so I’m hardly typical.
Wait, “show visits” are differentiated by “in studio” or (I guess) “other”? I’ve been telling people I’ve been on Sneaky Dragon 3000 times, but really it’s 3001!
I tried to download some Sufjan Stevens’ songs, accidentally downloaded Ray Stevens’ Greatest Hits instead. You know The Streak is a really underrated song.
I tried just downloading “Sufjan” but all I got was a lot of Beach Boys and Jan & Dean.
