Sneaky Dragon Episode 156

Sneaky-Dragon-Episode-156

Guten tag, Sneakers! It’s official! Sneaky Dragon is three years-old and Ian is having a hard time believing it. Speaking of threes, he does think that three is a magic number; Dave apparently thinks that Penthouse was a pretty magical magazine, but they both say “No” to Hustler; Dave is working on his job security; they talk about money…or the lack thereof; they wonder how expensive light bulbs might be; Ian doesn’t like the current rage for turning TV pitching into a no-win talent contest/reality show; the internet is declared dead; and, finally, Dave hogs the show talking about the documentary Jodorowsky’s Dune.

The Dept. of Corections: Dave obviously misspoke when referring to Jodorowsky’s The Holy Mountain as The Magic Mountain. He was obviously thinking of the Disney ride. Ian knows that Larry Flynt was the publisher of Hustler magazine, not Larry King, the popular children’s entertainer.

Thanks for listening.

  1. Congratulations on the three anniversary!

I live in Missouri and if anyone from around where I live, sent a picture to Penthouse or Hustler, they would tell everyone about it, not lie about where their from, and it wouldn’t be anything anyone hasn’t seen.

  2. Occasionally someone makes a space movie in this post-Star Wars era that tries to be artsy/existential/mind-blowy. Three I saw which spring to mind are Solaris (2002), Sunshine (2007), Moon (2009). And more recently: Prometheus, Gravity and Interstellar. I appreciate their efforts to make sci-fi cinema for grown-ups — though some films that are trying to be deep can end up just to be exceedingly trying.

  3. I’m the new listener starting year 4. I ran into the show via Caustic Soda. I like the smutty nature of the show. I have fond memories of my Hustler magazine days. After browsing through it a couple of times I couldn’t separate the pages any longer. Good times.

I’ll be listening from now on, Cheers!
