This week on the show: arson; this episode is hot off the press; turkey – great once in a while; plain yogurt and sugared milk; did Dave have his traditional Christmas breakfast; Christmas with family – let’s end it; the boys talk a lotta Bea Arthur; a Micronauts controversy; He-Man finally gets taken down a peg; an audience with Santas; Dedrick Boxing Day; Jason likes kid’s stuff; a Die Hard controversy; J.A.S.O.N.D. means something; our new podcast within a podcast – Hole Pickers; our new podcast within a podcast within a podcast – Picking Holes in Other Podcasts; Jason the contrarian; parents and computers, am I right; and, finally, The Ol’Rastus redux.

Thanks for listening.

Department of Corections:

Nothing Lasts Forever, written by Roderick Thorpe in 1979, was indeed a sequel to his 1966 novel The Detective and the basis for the film Die Hard. To be fair to Dave, the main character of The Detective is Joe Leland and the main character of Die Hard is John McClane, but he should up his Wikipedia game before he descends completely into old fogeydom.

The Micronauts were never an animated series.

Here is the filmumentary about Raiders of the Lost Ark as mentioned by Jason:

  1. They had tons of the festive Rice Krispies over here in Coquiltam! They’re 30% off now because Christmas never came for them.

    1. Just found some at my local Safeway. Turned out for the best, older family members had never had them before and a more traditional look probably helped. They loved them. My sister’s Father in law especially saying they were similar to a treat he had back in China as a boy.
