Sneaky Dragon Episode 231

Sneaky-Dragon-Episode-231
Ciao, Sneakers! This week on Sneaky Dragon Ian and Dave talk ice cream; eat big burgers; enjoy mayonnaise-like sauces; watch They Live; don’t enjoy celebrity cameos; tell us what’s great about Twin Peaks; make horrifying junk shop discoveries; are repelled by incest porn, but propelled by incest comedy; time travel back to Vancouver’s Expo 86 and visit bad robots, bad comedy and Dr. Smut; serve the public; and, finally, say a big thank you to all you weirdos out there.

Thanks for listening.

ATTENTION SNEAKERS!!! Ian and David will be at this year’s VanCAF doing a live version of Sneaky Dragon! Our guests will be our friendly neighbour and cartoonist James Lloyd and not our neighbour, but also a cartoonist Lucy Bellwood. We often take questions during the show so have a bunch at the ready, please.

Details: Sneaky Dragon at VanCAF – 5:00 PM, Saturday, May 21st at the Roundhouse (181 Roundhouse Mews) in Vancouver, BC

By the way, Ian and David will be tabling at the show so drop by and visit and talk our ears off, please!

  1. Regarding Comedy College at Expo 86…I believe the original third zone (after Funny and Weird) was actually called the Gross Zone. (Did they change it to the Groan Zone for the TV show?) Anyway, I remember that each zone had a sound effect, and the one for the Gross Zone was snorting pigs. That cafeteria was in a really bad location. First, the Canadian Pavilion was off the main Expo site. You had to take the Skytrain to get there. Then after getting through the Goose and Beaver Show, surviving the Revolving Theatre, the Great Hall, and the Cirque Du Soleil street performers and waiting in line for the 3-D IMAX movie, not a lot of people found their way down to that Lower Floor.

P.S. In the movie Cousins, Ted Dansen and Isabella Rossellini play characters who are married to people who are cousins, so their own relationship (once they get it on) is technically not incestuous, just adulterous.

  2. Longtime listener, firsttime poster.

I remember Expo 86! Was only 13 at the time and only got out to it three times. I remember a log ride with water that soaked the riders. Didn’t make it to your Comedy shows though, sorry!

But the balloon hamster covered in human hair made me have to pause mowing my grandma’s lawn, I was laughing so hard. Thinking of it just now brought a chuckle and brightened my mood, thank you for sharing that story!

I don’t remember anything else of the podcast before the Expo 86 stories. Sorry. They kind of eclipse what came before.

I do like two of the new shirts! I will order them when I can.
