Sneaky Dragon Episode 265

Best of the season, Sneakers! We continue a long running tradition of celebrating Boxing Day with Dave’s cousin Jason Dedrick dropping by for a real Dedrick Family Boxing Day! This week on the show: the Dedricks don’t like each other; we invented a new game: Is It Bones Or Castle?; our DNA heritage; the Dedrick family tree; Dave’s drink problem; Jason’s new podcast Gentlemen of Elegant Leisure; interesting drinks; a real Christmas takedown of It’s A Wonderful Life including “Nick the Bartender more like Nick the Hypocrite!”, “Why is there a stupid crow in the dumb Building and Loan?”, and “Why couldn’t they even file a copyright notice properly?”; worst Charlie Brown animated special; apparently we are old; our antiquated references in perspective; presidential buffoonery; clandestine Boxing Day celebrations; phone weirdness; a small tribute to Mike Roberds; beaver punch; new podcast idea: We Should Be Dead Now; childish repartée; seeping leg wound update; Doc Awk; let’s enjoy Twin Peaks; teen hi-jinks; and, finally, a visit to Christmas Island.

Thanks for listening.

Be sure to check out Jason’s new podcast Gentlemen of Elegant Leisure for drinks and conversation.

  1. Happy New Year guys! The Boxing Day show is always fun – non-drinker here but will be checking out the Gentlemen of Elegant Leisure anyway. Thanks for the ‘recommendation’ of It’s a Wonderful Life. We were given a copy years ago and have never watched it; might have to give it a chance.
We used to do so much dangerous stuff as kids – I grew up on an orchard and we’d be away all day with our bikes, jumping irrigation channels and riding for miles down back roads and dirt tracks. I try not to helicopter my son but it’s hard to imagine letting him do that kind of stuff now. He’s a little young yet anyway.
By the way, my shirt and goody-bag arrived a couple of days before New Years – a wonderful late Christmas present. Thanks to both of you!
. Some of the goodies are in place on my bookshelves…
