Sneaky Dragon Episode 337

Ciao, Sneakers! Thanks for joining on this week’s unlucky Episode 337!

While Ian and Dave are slaving away at VanCAF, you can enjoy: casual Sneakday, casual Zitzday; penis boing; alternate TV reality; really early comedy; alternate TV Beatles; choice dessert; unobservant dum-dums; mo’sugar mo’problems; standard salad; Dave’s Caesar salad recipe; most disappointing meal ever; salty foodstuffs; Toronto is a smelly town; book tizzy; movie recommendations: The Rider and Ghost Stories; and, finally, Top 5 songs about the sun as requested by Nettie Tebeau.

Thanks for listening.

Department of Corections:
Dave’s two hours sleep was really showing itself on this episode: the keyboardist who joined Yes after the departure of Tony Kaye was Rick Wakeman – not Alan Wakeman. (Dave was probably confusing him with sonn-to-be-new drummer Alan White.) Also, the third original member of The Fugs was Ken Weaver – not Ed Weaver, as dumbly suggested by al’sleepyhead Dedrick.

Top 5 Songs About The Sun As Chosen By Dave

1) “Sunshine, Sunshine” by James Taylor from the 1968 album James Taylor
2) “Singing to the Sunshine” by Cardinal from the 1994 album Cardinal
3) “Heart of the Sunrise” by Yes from the 1971 album Fragile
4) “Up on the Sun” by The Meat Puppets from the 1985 album Up on the Sun
5) “My Friend the Sun” by Family from the 1972 album Bandstand
6) “Fingers of the Sun” by The Fugs from the 1968 album Tenderness Junction

  1. I also thought of Dave when I saw that comedy segment on the Late Show where Stephen Colbert and the kid started talking about the best Beatles album!

And I thought of Ian’s Street Cents food safety sketch when Dave talked about his recipe for Caesar salad dressing. Your pregnant listeners and those with compromised immune systems should use those eggs you can get that have been pasteurized in their shells rather than raw eggs.

Thanks to Nettie for the suggestion of “sunshine” songs! Very appropriate with Spring going on, and where down here in North Carolina, it is feeling like summer! Nice song choices, David. Definitely obscure!
I’m looking forward to the new Marx Bros films podcast. I know it’ll be so good! Still, I keep thinking, why do you two not do a music podcast??? It’s like you are already doing one on the end of each episode of Sneaky Dragon. You have so much knowledge of various eras of music and the bands, and Ian, you always bring up good points and questions about the crazy music Dave comes up with, just seems a natural for another spin-off of SD!
Also, I am very excited to hear there will be at least two more “Sparks!” books! That was a bit of fantastic news! Thank you!

    1. Nice one. I’ve got all the time in the world for Ryan Dahle in any of his incarnations.
It’s always fun to yell at the podplayer regarding musical taste (agreeing and disagreeing), and this show was no exception. But GEEZ, only two “good” Meat Puppets albums, Dave??! Good lord, come on, I die
