Sneaky Dragon Episode 76

76 trombones led the big episode! That’s right! I’m taking it wa-a-a-a-ay back with the references. (Get over it.)

This week Ian and David talk about “famous” Canadian magician/political figure Doug Henning and not-so-famous non-magician Doug Henson; Ian and David obsess over boob cover magazine like the inappropriate Easy Rider and the incoherent Heavy Metal; Ian suggests that astronaut Chris Hadfield has found a royalty loophole; David thinks it’s a space oddity; Ian may have done 18 issues of his comic I to Dave’s one Rounder, but he brings up Dave’s history of mid-Eighties fanzine creation and Dave waxes rhapsodic on the good ol’ days of hard-to-do-it-yourself; Ian thinks it would be a good idea if Zach Snyder let himself go and made a movie his own; David says, “Sucker Punch”; Ian meets some famous people at the Ottawa Comiccon and people like him, they really, really like him; also, Dave learns that Ian doesn’t logroll – will never, ever logroll.

Another reminder! (Yawn…) David and Ian will be at VanCAF on Sunday, May 26th at 3:00 PM doing their thing…LIVE! Yes, they’ll be onstage yukking it up with special guest, longtime, mini-comics bigwig, Colin Upton. Admission is free so there is no excuse not to come down. (Unless you live in another city. That’s a good excuse.)

Thanks for listening!

    1. Thanks, Colin, and thank you, Internet, for explaining the mystery. It’s bugged me since my teens! Not in a bad way – just sort of curious and cool that the name pops up in two different works by two different authors. (I got all my Moorcock Cornelius books for a quarter apiece at the Army and Navy in New West in 1980 and read them with great mystification.)
