Sneaky Dragon Episode 313

by David Dedrick on December 2, 2017

Hola, Sneakers! Welcome to lucky Episode 313 of your second or possible third favourite podcast! This week on the show, Ian and Dave describe a little adventure they had involving car troubles, tow trucks and angry drivers; Ian is waved off; Dave gives some going to the tips; Ian wonders if Dave is Batman; marvel at the Marvel workout; marvel at Arnold vs. Lou; Dave argues against Dad Rock, but strangely for Yacht Rock; they do a Canadian content countdown; Dave confuses Focuses with Helixes; and, finally, Dave’s daughter Eve drops by as special Chick Talk™ correspondent with some chicken talk, and a little Vancouver architecture criticism.

Here is that Dad Rock video:

If you’ve never seen the ages-old web series Yacht Rock, here is your chance:

Spaghetti sandwich! Yes!

Well, my version is a little different from what Dave described, but it might still count. When I make spaghetti, I also make my own budget variety of cheesy garlic toast, consisting of a standard slice of bread (whatever I have, so usually wheat), margarine, garlic powder, salt, and parmesan. When eating, I deposit a giant forkfull of extremely generously sauced spaghetti (I call it spaghetti soup) onto the bread and eat them together. So I suppose it’s like an open-faced spaghetti sandwich stacked one bite at a time.

It’s messy as hell, but so, so yummy! I highly recommend it.

Also of note, a friend of mine from Australia told me this is fairly standard practice there.

How can people eat such things? Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to have some raw fish wrapped in rice and seaweed and dipped in salty bean juice.

Ahh well. More Spaghetti Sandwiches for me and Dave. I will fight anyone anywhere anytime for my share of sushi, though!

I felt pretty sure that the guitar solo in Reelin in the years was by Jeff ‘Skunk’ Baxter, not Denny Dias, as Dave said. Guess what – we’re both wrong…

Late reply, but I MUST point out that something wrong was said!!

The endomorph-ectomorph-mesomorph thing was debunked a long time ago. It’s pretty much quackery, but for some reason, it’s still a popular myth to this day.
