Well, that was sleazy, sordid and salacious… so, naturally, I loved it! Definitely a James M Cain vibe as the story unfolded. The Coens should snap up the movie rights.
Take-away phrase of the episode: “designated dozer.” I wonder what it is about the horse racing world that appealed to these shady ladies. Was it the lifestyle in general or the access to a pool of high rollers and easy marks to fleece? This story would make one of those movies you don’t know who to root for…except maybe the detective…or the horse.
