Refresh My Memory – Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Welcome to 1977’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind where you will encounter three hosts – including one who doesn’t know their microphone is off for half the show.
(We apologize, and by “we” I mean me, the person writing this, who didn’t double check the mics. I’d show more emotion, but I don’t want the hosts to call me a crybaby.)

Jason Dedrick, Eric Fell and Vicky Van talk about their memories of Steven Spielberg’s blend of outer space and the inner turmoil of an Indiana family.

Along with a snack of Richard Dried Fruits (any dried fruits in a bowl with Richard Dreyfuss’ face on it), they will brave…

The Buzzed Aldrin, a mix of tang and vodka and…

The Little Green Shooters

Here’s how to make it:

  • Make Lime Jell-O as per instructions substituting half a cup of cold gin for cold water
  • Place into shot glasses and cool
  • When firm, add edible eyeballs (available online or use white then black food coloured icing)

They also invent:

The Close Encounter AKA Roy Neary’s Tears

Here’s how to make it:

  • Muddle brown sugar to cover the bottom of a rocks glass
  • dd ice, both real and glowing if possible (order online)
  • Add 3 oz of vodka
  • Drizzle with cream or, Heaven help you, eggnog
  • Give it to your wife to try and. then enjoy a trial separation. In space.

If you make the drink or come up with one of your own, please send a picture to sneakyd@sneakydragon.com (follow this link)! Even if you don’t, we’d still love to hear from you.
