Sneaky Dragon Episode 198

Sneaky-Dragon-Episode-198

Ciao, Sneakers! This week Ian and Dave our joined by one of our favourite guests: the one-quarter evil Nina Matsumoto! Ian, Dave and Nina had a long and wide-ranging and disturbing conversation about disco smog; sock hops; Nina’s dulcimer; Dave’s rough school; Charles Schulz’s grave; maudlin cartoon tributes; terrible Mort Walker cartoons; Nina’s report from PAX; her near-death experience; terrible deaths and injuries; friends’ unsympathies; a revival of the Wii versus Playstation war; bridge dummies; and, finally, one condescending motherfucker.

During the show we mentioned Nina’s contribution to Comics in Transit. You can see her comic below. You can also visit Nina’s Tumblr page for a quick process post here.

  1. Wii’s are not for babies.

Which I mention, only so that babies out there will know how cool they are for playing Wii.

    What’s up, you cool baby?

  2. Cool episode! I’ve been skimming through the back issues of the podcast and my favorites are the ones where you interview other comics creators. Dave and Ian have some good insights into the philosophy and history of the medium. Random, unrelated observation: Dave mentions Frank Zappa occasionally and I’d love to hear more of his opinions about Zappas work. I’m a huge Zappa head, but I think most of his albums are deeply flawed. Keep it nerdy. Keep on sneakin.

  3. One of your best episodes. Kept husband awake with my laughter. Sneaky Dragon is in my top three for podcasts. Keep the entertaining conversations coming.

  4. My take away from this week was Lionel Richie and now I have say you say me stuck in my head and I intend to watch White Nights.

  5. Louise asked us to post this on the site:

FYI: Here’s an image from the “In Memoriam” montage from tonight’s 2015 Emmy Awards broadcast. I was just listening to you guys talking about cartoon characters paying tribute to deceased people on this week’s podcast.

  6. Ah, so this is the message board you talk about. Or is it? Anywho, I like Wii Fit, too. I never reach my goal but I suppose I’d have to use it more than once every six months. Also I’ve been saying we’re the Pacific Southwest my whole life. Way to go, David! We’re the Southwest of Canada. Seattle’s the Northwest of the contiguous states. Alaska’s the Northwest of the continent.
